I have loved the monochrome trend for so long, and so envied bloggers that seem to pull it off with ease. I have tried experimenting with monochromatic looks in the past but I’ve never had my own sartorial monochrome moment. The thought of buying an entire outfit around one color was simply overwhelming. Until, I saw this dress.
While browsing my favorite store ASOS online I stumbled across this dress and just fell in love with the colors. The moment I saw, I saw this entire look in my head. Suddenly monochrome seemed like a no-brainer. I love those moments of clarity when a whole look just falls into place! Once I got everything and put it together for real, I knew that my instinct was right! I loved this one-toned look and starting with a neutral color family like camel really was the right move.
This look also ended up looking like I was channeling 70’s fashion and I’m not at all mad about it!

Fortunately this dress is still available in sizes XS through M, and for reference I’m in the XS. This dress is not only perfect for this monochrome look, but the long sleeves and turtleneck make it a great layering piece for the cold weather! I can totally see it with tights under an overall dress and some booties, for example!
Monochrome has definitely been a trend that I’ve loved seeing in 2017 and I can’t wait to bring the style into 2018 as well! What trends are you carrying through into 2018? Let me know what you think below and head over to my Instagram and Pinterest to see what I’m up to daily!
